Westwind Lodge - Oakland

I was shocked to find there was no shampoo or even a hair dryer in my room, how primitive! The shower was a nightmare, only hot or cold water? Woudl have been nice to get some kind of complimentary room upgrade given this fiasco! Honestly, i almost wrote a good review, but just couldn't. What a letdown!

Clean patio room

Truly enjoyed Oakland, the hotel was absolutely amazing in Bay area. Our room was spacious, with television, a microwave and a refrigerator. The location was particularly good and decent for walking around Mosswood Park. It was also really close to good restaurants, movie theater, groceries, urgent care, coffee shops, as well as downtown and Berkeley

Ohh, the local chow is a vibe! Hot tip, hit up Ohgane Korean BBQ for those smoky meats that'll have you dreaming. The bed was comfy, and the shared balcony vibes were chill too.

But let's keep it real-check-in was a bit of a ghost town, with an unshod staff member and a security door that felt mad really like it needed a hug! The overall vibe had me feeling like I'd walked into a throwback spot where maintenance was an afterthought.

The shared balcony was a fantastic spot for a morning coffee, with tables and chairs perfect for relaxation. The Queen Room was comfortable, with a large bed that seemed like a cloud after a long day. Cleanliness was on point.

Very clean rooms with new fixtures and comfy queen beds. Loved the little fridge and Keurig! The shared balcony was a sweet spot to enjoy the evening (perfect for some chill time).

The convenience of being near the hospital was a major plus. The room itself was clean and basic but came equipped with a comfortable bed and a small refrigerator, made things easier. The overall atmosphere felt unsettling with nearby residents adding a layer of tension, and the shower had inconsistent water temperature issues. The parking situation was also a challenge late in the evening due to limited space.

The shower presented some challenges, starting with only cold water before switching to all hot, and there wasn't a tub plug for those who like to soak. The room, though nonsmoking, had a lingering odor of tobacco that felt out of place.

the place felt pretty unsafe when we arrived. but the room had a fridge and microwave which was a plus! also, the water pressure was decent, and it was clean enough for the price.

We stayed in a Queen Room with Two Queen Beds, perfect for our family. The kids loved the shared balcony space, and I appreciated the comfortable beds. The free WiFi made it easy for us to unwind after visiting the nearby cultural spots. Check out the monthly events at the Paramount Theatre!

We checked in and felt uneasy with a strange atmosphere. The room had a peculiar smell, and the shower didn't drain well. If you're staying in Oakland, I'd suggest exploring nearby eateries like Ohgane Korean BBQ, as this hotel lacks in overall comfort and cleanliness.

I stayed at a queen room, and it reminded me of my last visit in oakland where the bed was super comfy and the place was quiet. The family-run vibe is evident, and they even brought a fridge to my room right away. It was such a relief having a clean, secure spot during my time in the area.
